Iowa Restaurant Reopening Criteria

Iowa restaurants have a responsibility to take measures to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. The Governor’s Proclamation of Disaster Emergency issued on April 27, 2020, allows restaurants in Cerro Gordo county (and 76 other counties) to resume limited on-premises dining service effective 5AM on May 1, 2020, until 11:59PM on May 15, 2020.

The Department of Inspections & Appeals recently added additional Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for Restaurants Reopening. The original FAQ had 27 questions, and since Friday, has added an additional 25 questions to include more guidance for hotels serving breakfast, scenarios for seating arrangements for individual and group dining, and the use of plexiglass partitions.
