Hospital Asks Businesses to Require Masks

A Message from the MercyOne North Iowa President & CEO

As we see COVID-19 numbers surge in our county, reaching a new record of 954 active cases per 100,000 residents, we are asking you – as business owners and operators, to help us beat this virus. Over the past week, MercyOne North Iowa has experienced the highest number of COVID-19 patients since the beginning of the pandemic. Please require
employees and customers to wear a mask at your place of business to help reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in our community. To help support you, please use the Mask Up sign to display in your store front. Also, please share our recent Facebook post to your business page and personal page to help raise awareness.

We know you understand the importance of good public health to sustain and grow economic health. To preserve both, we ask you to help us showcase this important safety measure. By requiring masks at your place of business, you will show unity with your local health care workers and your commitment to slowing the spread of COVID-19.

By working together, we can prevent overwhelming our health systems and ensure our local businesses remain open. We look forward to continued partnership with you. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Rod Schlader,
President & CEO
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center
