Meet Brett

I grew up in the nearby Northern Iowa community of Northwood. While working as a journalist in Southern Minnesota, I was drawn back across the border by the excitement happening in Mason City, a renaissance they called it. Today that energy is still growing! In addition to its rich music and architectural history, Mason City is quickly becoming a major Midwest hub for outdoor recreation.

Personally, I prefer a more relaxed lifestyle. You can find me taste-testing the newest creation at one of our specialty bars or breweries, where you can always hear live music on the weekends. On Saturday mornings, I like to have brunch at my favorite local restaurant. But the neat thing about Mason City is that while it has a small town vibe, it’s still large enough for big city offerings like Target and Starbucks. I need my pumpkin spice coffee!! For fun, I also enjoy volunteering with Main Street Mason City. They are the group responsible for organizing all the fun downtown events throughout the year! I hope to visit with you soon in Mason City!
