Entertainment Lineup Announced

Entertainment for the 83rd annual North Iowa Band Festival will include a variety of musical genres.

Entertainment

In the spirit of celebrating local musicians, the John Adams Middle School Band will kick off the weekend on Thursday night, followed by a performance by the Mason City Municipal Band.

On Friday, the Mason City High School Jazz Band will perform at 4PM. The talented Mason City High School Orchestra is scheduled at 6PM, followed by Des Moines musician Emma Butterworth. The Nada’s will take the main stage at 7:30PM to close out the Friday night’s entertainment.

Saturday’s schedule begins with the Stu Nevermann Run at 8AM, followed by the big parade at 10AM. The North Iowa Band Festival Committee has decided that parade entries will be allowed to distribute candy and other goods in 2022. The state champion Mohawks Danzers will perform at 12:45PM in front of the Main Stage directly before the Awards Ceremony at 1PM, followed by the Instrument Petting Zoo, which will be held from 2-4PM. Saturday evening’s Main Stage performances begin at 5:30 when Juni West takes the stage. After that, Betty and the Gents will close out the night at 7:30PM.

Parade Entry Deadline

Parade entries are now being accepted. Applications received after May 9 are subject to a $25 late fee. Entries will compete for Grand Marshal honors—reflecting best use of the festival theme “Band Fest on Broadway” or for the Mr. Toot award which honors the best use of any theme.

Carnival, Concessions, Marketplace

Festival activities, which also include a carnival, concessions, and marketplace, will take place throughout Memorial Day in downtown Mason City. Thanks to the support from major sponsors and the Friends of the Festival campaign, this event provides a full weekend of entertainment for the North Iowa community free of charge. The Band Festival website is updated frequently with updated information including volunteer opportunities, sponsors, parade details, and the full entertainment schedule.
