Healthcare is North Iowa’s leading industry. Recruitment of providers, retention of medical residents, and reforming Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements are top priorities.

Safety and usage updates to Highway 122 will be a primary project in the next ten years. The Chamber supports federal funding and grant support from the Department of Transportation. The Chamber also supports Congressionally Directed Spending for infrastructure upgrades to promote economic development.

The Chamber supports the expansion of housing options through funding and policies that incentivize communities and employers to invest in new and existing housing.

The Chamber understands child care access and affordability is a key workforce issue. We support additional investment and policies that increase access, including increased the threshold for the Employer-Provided Child Care Tax Credit (45F), Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP), and Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC).

The Chamber supports a modernized immigration system and policies that support an inclusive population to meet workforce needs, including the expansion of the Conrad 30 waiver program.

The Essential Air Service program provides crucial transportation support for North Iowa industries. The Chamber strongly supports continued investment in this program and continued eligibility for the Mason City Municipal Airport.
