Growing Up Local is more than an organization—it’s a movement to bring North Iowa families closer together. We are a community-driven initiative focused on promoting family-friendly events that bring people together while helping families discover valuable programs, services, and opportunities available in North Iowa. We’re here to make sure every young person in Mason City and beyond feels like they have a place to grow and plant roots.”
We act as the “connective tissue” between our community’s organizations and the families they serve.
- For Families & Youth: We curate engagement opportunities that help young people build friendships, develop skills, and find their place in the community.
- For Local Organizations: We partner with you to amplify your message, ensuring your events and services reach the families who need them most.
- In the Community: You’ll find us on the ground at local events, facilitating connections and making sure no opportunity for engagement goes unnoticed.

Cannonball Day | Saturday, June 27 | 11:15AM-3:15PM | East Park
Youth are invited to the Growing Up Local booth to learn more and be put in a drawing for a movie basket prize. Kids are also encourage to attend the Kids Business Fair at the event.
Back-to-School Block Party | Tuesday, July 21 | 4-7PM | Community Health Center
Growing Up Local will have a tent, games and prizes for kids to get in the back-to-school spirit! We hope to see you there!
