The 86th North Iowa Band Festival kicks off this Memorial Day weekend in Mason City, Iowa, celebrating over eight decades of musical tradition. This year’s event promises a full slate of exciting activities including the carnival, food vendors, and an assortment of bands.
The festivities begin with the carnival and food vendors on Thursday, followed by performances by the John Adams Middle School Band and the Mason City Municipal Band. On Friday, enjoy performances by the Mason City High School Orchestra, the Mason City High School Jazz Band, Will Barnett & Company, and Trophy Dads.
On Saturday morning, the streets of Mason City will come alive with the sounds of high school marching bands, colorful floats, and a true sense of community pride. The parade features not only marching bands from across the region, but also spectacular floats that bring an extra layer of fun and energy to the celebration. After the parade, the awards ceremony will take place followed by a special performance by the Mason City Dance Team. Saturday night, enjoy performances by Noah Harris, Of Old Magic, BYOBrass, and Not Quite Brothers.
Sunday will feature an Outdoor Worship Service, followed by a marketplace in Central Park featuring a variety of local vendors. Come hungry—food vendors will be serving delicious treats, and the carnival will be in full swing with rides and games for all ages. The festivities will continue through Monday as the carnival wraps up.
