Building CommUNITY: Vision & Hearing Inclusion

Join us for our next Building CommUNITY session at 9AM on Thursday, June 5 at the Commerce Center to learn about creating a more inclusive, accessible workplace and gain a deeper understanding of hearing and vision impairments. Dr. Jesse O. Bolinger will lead a discussion on service animals and their critical role in supporting individuals with visual
impairments. Dr. Tanya Harper Rowe, an audiologist from Hearing Associates, will provide insight into hearing impairments and ways to improve communication and accessibility in the workplace.

Attendees will leave with practical knowledge and strategies to better support individuals with sensory disabilities. Chamber members are encouraged to register and attend free of charge.

Dr. Tanya Harper Rowe
Tanya Harper Rowe, Au.D., CCC-A, is an audiologist at Hearing Associates in Mason City. A Hampton native, Tanya was drawn to healthcare and discovered her passion for audiology after job shadowing at her current employer. She was inspired by the team’s dedication to helping patients with hearing loss and chose a career where she could improve hearing and communication. Tanya holds degrees from the University of Iowa, Northwestern University, and A.T. Still University.

 

 

Dr. Jesse O. Bolinger
Dr. Jesse Bolinger was born with Hydrocephalus, causing legal blindness and developmental delays. Defying the odds and others’ limitations, he attended public schools and earned a BA in Communications from Graceland, an MS in Nonprofit Management from Regis, and a PhD in Human Services from Capella. A lifelong learner, he later returned to Capella to earn a Master’s in General Psychology.
