This year’s YIELD class is hard at work on their community impact project and is seeking support from area businesses and individuals to help bring their vision to life. The students have chosen to transform a vacant storefront in Southbridge Mall into a vibrant student study and lounge space. Their goal is to create a safe, affordable, and welcoming environment where students can study, relax, and connect with one another outside of school hours. By revitalizing an unused space and turning it into a hub for collaboration and creativity, the YIELD class hopes to leave a lasting impact on both students and the community as a whole.
Since the space has been unused for several years, the class plans to complete minor aesthetic updates in preparation for a mid-December opening. To bring their vision to life, the students are seeking donations of gently used items such as high-top tables and chairs, couches or loveseats, bean bags, large area rugs, group tables, whiteboards, coffee and end tables, bulletin boards, lamps, books, and board games.
Businesses and individuals wishing to support the project may contribute by donating listed items or making monetary donations to assist with paint and supply costs. For more information or to arrange a donation, contact Allyson at the Chamber ([email protected] | 641.423.5724).
