Growing Connection: The Value of Ag/Industry Tours

Each year, the Greater Mason City Chamber Ag/Industry Tours provides an important opportunity for Chamber members to better understand and appreciate the agriculture industry that plays such a vital role in North Iowa’s economy. These tours are designed to connect local leaders, business owners, educators and community members with the farms, agribusiness and local producers who help drive regional growth.

One of the key benefits of Ag/Industry Tours is education. Participants gain firsthand insight into modern agricultural practices, technology, and innovation. By seeing operations up close, members learn how today farmers and agribusinesses are adapting to changing markets, sustainable goals and regulatory requirements.

This deeper understanding helps build informed advocates for agriculture within the broader community.

These tours strengthen relationships. In 2026 the Chamber Agribusiness Committee will host not one, but three tours in the North Iowa area. We will provide more opportunities for community members by traveling together and engaging directly with local Ag producers and industries to learn what they do. These connections often lead to new partnerships, stronger local supply chains, and a shared commitment to supporting our local agriculture.

By offering multiple Ag/Industry Tours in 2026, we will highlight the economic impact of agriculture on Mason City and the entire North Iowa area. Our goal is that participants leave with a clearer picture of how agriculture supports jobs, contributes to local tax bases, and fuels innovation across many sectors.

Ultimately, the purpose of the Greater Mason City Chamber Ag/Industry Tours is to bridge the gap between agriculture and communities. Please stay tuned for more information, and sign up when offered to attend one or all the tours this year.
