This month, several members of our team will travel to New Orleans for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) Annual Convention, the largest gathering of chamber professionals in the country. While conferences provide opportunities to learn and bring back new ideas, this year’s event carries special significance for our organization.
The Greater Mason City Chamber of Commerce has been named a finalist for ACCE’s Chamber of the Year award, the highest honor in our industry. During the convention, we will participate in a final interview process and have the opportunity to showcase the work being done on behalf of our members and community. Regardless of the outcome, being recognized among the top chambers in the nation reflects the strength of our organization, volunteers, and business community.
North Iowa will also be represented in other meaningful ways. I have been selected to serve on ACCE’s Board of Directors, and our Vice President, Allyson Krull, will graduate from ACCE’s inaugural NextGen leadership program.
These recognitions are ultimately a reflection of our engaged members, volunteers, and community partners. We are honored to represent North Iowa on a national stage and look forward to sharing new ideas, strategies, and connections when we return home.
