My name is Lucia Hadacek, and I am excited to serve as the Marketing & Events Intern with the Greater Mason City Chamber of Commerce this summer. I participated in the YIELD program, graduated from Newman Catholic High School in 2025, and will be heading into my sophomore year at the University of Iowa in the fall. I live in Forest City and am the oldest of seven children, which has taught me a lot about leadership, responsibility, and the importance of community.
I love spending time outdoors, being on the lake, golfing, and making memories with friends and family. This summer, I am looking forward to meeting new people, building connections throughout the community, and gaining hands-on experience in marketing, event planning, and community engagement.
As part of my internship, I will be helping with several exciting community events including the 87th North Iowa Band Festival, Moonlight Bike Ride, the Chamber’s annual Golf Outing, and the College Connections program. I will also be assisting with website updates and helping create and manage social media content for the Chamber.
I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to spend the summer learning, growing, and giving back while connecting with people across North Iowa.
