Congratulations to the 2024 Boss of the Year, Stuart Trembath!
Stuart Trembath, Owner and Audiologist of Hearing Associates, has been a pivotal force in his field for more than 30 years. As he approaches retirement at the end of this year, his lasting legacy of leadership and compassion continues to inspire his staff and the broader community.
His team of 14 employees at Hearing Associates describe Stuart as more than just a leader – he is a mentor who fosters growth and encourages innovation. Stuart has created a space where employees can develop their skills and grow professionally, supporting continuing education efforts and mental health awareness programming.
Stuart’s influence is felt not only within the walls of Hearing Associates but throughout the community. In 2016, he established the “Hear for Our Community” initiative, which donates to local charities for every appointment booked through the program. This initiative has raised over $112,655 for 24 nonprofits, with employees volunteering their time for events such as Habitat for Humanity builds and local food distribution at Community Kitchen.
Stuart has played a vital role in shaping the field of audiology. He was instrumental in passing the Audiology Access Bill, which allows individuals to receive hearing evaluations without a referral, making care more accessible. Stuart’s leadership within professional organizations is equally impressive, including his tenure as a board member of the Iowa Speech-Language and Hearing Association and his service with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Stuart’s dedication to his staff, his patients, and the broader community has made a lasting impact. As he steps into retirement, the values he has championed – kindness, growth, and service – will continue to thrive at Hearing Associates.
