Wilson has also contributed to numerous community organizations. He is an active member of the River City Kiwanis and a past member of the Evening Lions, where he has dedicated his time to service projects that enhance the lives of residents. His passion for helping others extends to his church, where he is also an active member, strengthening his community through faith and fellowship.
Wilson’s civic involvement includes serving on the City Housing Advisory & Appeals Board, where he helps guide decisions that impact local housing policies. His expertise as an Orphan Train historian further underscores his commitment to preserving history and educating others.
Through his decades of service, Wilson has earned the admiration and respect of his fellow citizens, making him a deserving recipient of the Distinguished Citizen of the Year award.
