2025 Business of the Year

The Mason City Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor CURRIES as the 2025 Business of the Year. For 67 years, CURRIES has been a leader in manufacturing, employing more than 730 people and producing over 300,000 steel doors and more than 2.2 million frames annually. Their products are used nationwide in healthcare, commercial, institutional, and industrial construction, providing safety, security, and peace of mind for countless building occupants. Known for innovation, reliability, and quality, CURRIES has established itself as the #1 manufacturer of steel doors and frames in the United States, while remaining a cornerstone of Mason City’s local economy.

CURRIES has continually invested in both its people and its facilities. In recent years, the company has committed more than $7.5 million to new equipment and building expansions, including a 14,400-square-foot facility addition, automated welding, shearing, and punching equipment. These investments have strengthened production capacity in Mason City, ensuring CURRIES can meet growing national demand while keeping jobs and opportunity local. The company’s innovation extends to its product line as well, delivering doors and frames that improve energy efficiency, sustainability, and safety, all while reducing environmental impact and manufacturing costs.

Yet CURRIES’ influence goes far beyond its manufacturing accomplishments. Guided by the philosophy “Together we are CURRIES, framing opportunities and opening doors to access the future,” the company is deeply committed to the North Iowa community. In 2025 alone, CURRIES supported more than 35 local organizations, events, and nonprofits through sponsorships, volunteer efforts, and monetary donations. Employees actively participate in initiatives such as the North Iowa Band Festival, United Way campaigns, Toys for Tots, Moonlight Bike Ride, school programs, and more. The company also partners with area schools and NIACC to provide site visits, mentorship, and hands-on projects, helping to cultivate the next generation of skilled workers and community leaders.

What sets CURRIES apart is its culture of service. Employees are encouraged to engage in volunteer projects, serve on local boards, and take leadership roles in civic organizations. Whether it’s supporting youth programs, funding school initiatives, or participating in local events, CURRIES consistently demonstrates what it means to be a responsible and engaged corporate citizen. The Chamber is proud to recognize CURRIES as the 2025 Business of the Year—a company that leads through excellence, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to both business and community.
