College Connections

North Iowa Businesses are encouraged to involve summer interns in a program designed to connect young workers to our community and to each other! “College Connections,” coordinated by the Mason City Chamber of Commerce, will provide a series of social and educational activities on a once-a-week schedule throughout the summer, June 7 - July 26, 2018.

Chamber members will serve as “Lunch & Learn” speakers on a variety of topics relevant to college students and new graduates including networking, managing credit, and tips on resumes and interviewing. Scheduled social activities such as a community scavenger hunt, mini golf, and a ride on Lady of the Lake will serve as a preview to the many popular area recreational activities available to participants.

“College Connections is a great networking opportunity for interns this summer.  In addition to building relationships with community business leaders, participants are exposed to great recreational activities North Iowa has to offer,” said Kativa Weitzel, Program Director for the Chamber. “We want these interns to see the benefits of living and working in our region so they consider North Iowa in their post-college plans.”

To register for College Connections, please click here or call the Chamber at 641.423.5724 for more information. The program will meet every Thursday, June 7-July 26 at various times and locations. This program is offered free to Mason City Chamber members. Businesses who are not Chamber members are also encouraged to participate; the fee for non-members is $100.
